About the Book
Description
Glint is the precious material that fuels the planet Mora, but supplies are dwindling and everyone must strive to protect what is left from the deadly Feeders, seek more mines, and keep their world alive. Young Loon Ozoa is a lowly pit worker, but longs to enlist as a soldier in the Temple of Sacred Defense, much to the chagrin of his sickly widowed mother and his grandmother Frann, a cycle-riding former warrior and Mine Master. Though small in stature and lacking in experience, Loon gets an opportunity to prove himself when his good friend, Captain Val Mol, promises to secure him a spot in his squad. Meanwhile, the mysterious disappearance of large stores of Glint points to political intrigue and dark secrets, as does the sudden appearance in The Pits of Ketta, a young worker whose true identity may not be what it seems. As this first book of the trilogy comes to a close, Loon and Val are called into battle and are thrust into the middle of a conspiracy that will test their loyalties and determine the fate of their world.
